SHORELINE

Eponymous single form my forthcoming album on the theme of climate change. Watch the trailer now
The shoreline fades beneath the borrowed sky
The waters rise with no one standing by
The ground we knew just quietly slips away
Like doors we left unlocked now closed and shut for days
The damp stillness in the evening air
A fading light just barely shining there
If I could keep one truth before the night
It's knowing you outlast a fading light, outlast a fading light
The warnings came too soft for us to hear
We thought we had more time, we thought more years
The earth gave way and forced us all to flee
Our roads now split by raging stormy seas
Your path led where the sirens scream so loud
While mine was lifted by some distant cloud
If I could know you reached some solid ground
This fear might lose its grip without a sound, might lose without a sound
Our home exists in stories people tell
The coast now marked where ocean currents swell
We live but not the land that held us tight
It sank below while stars still shone so bright
If love remains, it floats without a shore
Still anchored by what mattered from before
I search for signs the waves won't win this war
And call your name above the ocean's roar
